Kurobe Tateyama Alpine Route HOTEL YUMENOYU
Hotel Yume-no-Yu (Hot spring of Dream) is a small hotel managed by a small number of staff members and its owner's family members.
Number of guest rooms is 25 and total capacity is 50 persons.
Our hotel welcomes mainly individual tourists, not group tour organized by travel bureaus.
Our hotel is in Omachi Onsen-Kyo (Omachi Onsen Group) located at the Kurobe Dam side of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Our hotel is the smallest hotel in the Onsen-Kyo and we are proud to offer two kinds of hot springs, good music and delicious Japanese dishes.
After check-in, why not relax with a cup of coffee or tea in the lobby while listening to quiet background Jazz music?
The owner, Mr. Nakamura, is also a musician and the leader of a local band called Hakuba Ojisan Band. He would be happy to provide a live singing performance to guitar accompaniment upon your request
Our guest rooms are not too large. All the rooms have tatami mats (please remember to take off your slippers on the tatami mats!) Complimentary Japanese tea and cakes are served for your
Bedding is traditional Japanese futon spread on tatami floor. While guest are out for dinner, staff members will enter the room and move the table aside and set out the futon. Relax and have a
In your guest room, yukata (a light cotton Japanese robe) and hanten (a cotton half coat that goes over the yukata) are available for your use. Wearing a yukata and hanten is a common
Japanese style for customers at a ryokan (Japanese inn). Please relax and freely move around inside the hotel wearing your yukata and hanten!
All the guest rooms have small bath units. You can shower there but we highly recommend you use the large communal baths and enjoy our hot spring.
Dinner and breakfast are served in a communal Japanese-style restaurant. You can enjoy meals at a traditional Japanese style table, one that has a space below for you to stretch your legs
Our dinner menu includes Sukiyaki, home-made tofu (bean curd) and Nama yuba (raw tofu skin). Many visitors from overseas also enjoy these delicious and healthy Japanese meals. There is no rigid
rules for eating and please feel free to eat as you like. Most guests eat at the restaurant wearing yukata and hanten.
How about having sake (Japanese rice wine) with your dinner? Omachi is famous for its water but it is also reknown for its sake. The small town of Omachi has three sake breweries. Our
recommendation is Namazake (1,050 Yen/bottle). Also we have a famous and tasty wine made in nearby Shiojiri
How to spend
Dinner starts around 6:00 p.m. Most nights, after dinner (from around 8:00 p.m.), a casual concert will be held. The music is mainly old Japanese folk songs, but American pops and country and
Western songs are also played. The concert is for about 30 minutes and held upon customers' requests.
Please take advantage of our communal bathing areas or "ofuro". The large bathtub at the back in the photo is a hot spring from Omachi Kuzu Onsen. And the small bathtub at this side is hot spring
from Hakuba Shio-no-michi Onsen. Shio-no-michi means "Salt Road" and the water of this hot spring is quite salty. Our hotel provides two kinds of hot springs. Roten-buro (open-air bath) is hot
spring outside. Please give it a try!
